These shot glasses are so incredibly
thick and rugged you'd think Steve was making them to go camping
with! (11cm tall)
Update on the above: That little yellow one sold
the day after I posted this photo. Yes, it was perfect! No there
are no others like it, but isn't that part of why it was perfect?

This descending spiral
glass set was hand blown by J. Steve Nechodom, who has been blowing
glass in the traditional Venetian "soft glass" style for
16 years in Berkeley, Calif. He is also half owner of the GravityFeed
InternetJuice Gallery located at 1959 Shattuck Ave. in (funky-like)
Berkeley, Calif.

5/12/2004: This beautiful vase
was hand blown by Gravity artist Steve Nechodom
on May 2, 2004. Made from the element Cobalt this
piece in the late day Berkeley, Calif sun defines exquisite. This
vase could be yours for only $600 (USD) plus shipping. It stands
49cm and is 19cm at its widest
point; it has 7 murinis (color splotches) with a hand spun pink
lip.
5/30/2004 My Niece is the proud owner of this beautiful vase now.
It's nice to be able to see first hand a beautiful work of art go
to a good home. Happy birthday Jennifer!

Over the
past two weeks (05/2004) Steve Nechodom has hand
blown over 200 pounds of glass! Out of that 200 about 50
pounds of that was the new Series II Gravity Tumblers (seen above).
The Tumblers are $24.00 (USD) plus shipping. The
Mugs are $40.00 (USD) plus shipping. You can buy
a "Mouth-Blown" glass Tumbler for 24
bucks and get a free juice (and refill) of your choice!

This beautiful hand blown
glass ball is a 40cm circle in size and was blown by Berkeley glass
artisan Lee Miltier. It sits in the yard at his glass blowing studio
at 4th and Bancroft in (funky-like) Berkeley, Calif. The
next time I see the guy I'll ask what he wants for it.

All Gravity

work of art that is impossible to reproduce, in your hands every
morning for your freshly spun organic InternetJuice! A work of art

GreenWhite: 3/5/2004 (The piece
in the foreground is by far my favorite hand blown piece in the
world. It was blown in 1995 by Berkeley, California Artist J. Stephen
Nechodom. It stands 6.8cm high and is 9cm at its widest point.)
Steve, Dena and I have a mutual friend in Seattle, Wa. by the name
of Teshan, she is personally responsible for turning
all of us on to the wonders of botanical artisan aromatherapy. While
Dena and I were at sea
Teshan's aromatic concoctions literally saved our hides. We are
forever in her debt. Visit her on line at violetgeorgebotanicals.com
We went to Seattle at the beginning of June 2004 and gave the above
piece of blown glass to Teshan as a gift. We filled it up with delicious
organic, fair trade Ethiopian Sidamo Coffee from the Thanksgiving
Coffee company.

ClearDay1: 3/4/2004, Steve Nechodom's new clear line(blown 3/1/2004)
is a marvel at sunset! Prices range from $28.00(USD) all the way
up to $190.00(USD) plus shipping. There are 16 pieces in all, each
piece has at least two murini's and a pink hand spun lip. $900.00(USD)
plus shipping for the set.

ClearBall1: 3/2/2004

The intensity
of this sunset was just a little too much for my poor, pathetic
little 2.1mp digital camera. I just hope for your
sake, (Dear Visitor) the beauty isn't lost in the
medium's lose translation. I have a much better camera now, it's
still not as sweet as it needs to be for all this spectacular glass
work but at least it's better then an HP2.1.
Oh yeah, my new camera is a Nikon CoolPix 5700, it's all that!

Steve Nechodom hand blew
this beautiful white bowl the week before Christmas 2003. It stands
7cm high and is 30cm at it's widest point.

(well, the real name should be Steve's red and Lee's goblet... Names,
huh!)

The above blue pitcher was a new work by Steve 1/24/04 and is a
very strange combination of Cobalt with a pink handle. It's now
sold.

Dark Witch Balls are $18 each, the price is negotiable for more
then one. Each ball looks like a different planet with beautiful,
intricate swirls all throughout each piece. No two are the same!

Just a few weeks ago Dan Wooddell
blew three more Ha-ha Lua (style) vases and of course I've got 'em
in the window. I just built a page around all the pictures I've
shot of Dans work showing at Gravity Feed.
Just click on the above shot to get there.

I call this shot "Gravity's hat". I waited all morning
for this picture. It was so worth it! 1/20/2004

After a long and stressful X-mas season Dena
and I took off for the mountains for some much needed R&R!
Upon our return Dena fell down the stairs at the Feed and broke
her left leg at the ankle! Ouch!!! The above is a shot of the flowers
that her friends and co-workers at
Toys in Babeland got for her and of course we had a perfect
vase. Get well soon Dena! We all love you and wish you a speedy
recovery!
3/5/2004 update on the aforementioned, Dena's ankle is healing rather
well. She got back on her bike for the first time since the fall
this last Tuesday. She defines "Super-Hero"!

Steve calls these balls
"basket balls" because they have a smaller "basket"
ball on the inside of the large outer ball, sizes vary but not by
much - they average about 13cm.

I call this shot "Kevin's Wall" because all the Raku tiles
you see
there on the wall are done by New York artist Kevin Coffee.www.coffeepotter.com
Kevin taught me how to load a 35mm camera about 20 years ago,
he just started his BFA program at LIU (Long Island University)
this year (2004), good luck Kevin

Happy Boxing Day 2003, From all of us at the Gravity feed!

Orange bowl $85.00 (16cm X 19cm)

We have quite a few handmade Australian Didgeridoos!
If you want a price give me a call and let's talk (510) 644-4464
ask for James. I play this instrument and I don't like to sell musical
instruments that I play. But! Everything in the Feed is for sale,
well, everything but me and the girl,
well, everything but the girl...

In January (2003) Steve and I did this road
trip to Bellingham, Wa. While we were there we found this beautiful
hand made
Cobalt Globe (GF101 $750.00 USD) in a local glass gallery.
I think this piece gets more attention then any other piece in the
Feed.

The Gravity Feed 1959 Shattuck. Ave. in (funky-like) Berkeley, Ca.
94704. The striking Bronze and Copper target painting on the front
of our building was designed by myself and Seattle artist Jonathan
Jay. The painting part was mostly done by Jonathan
in the middle of the very hot California summer of 2003.

The rocks were a gift from Koji and Debbie of Kasuri Dyeworks. Kasuri
Dyeworks was in our space at 1959 Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley, Ca.
for the 29 years before Gravity took hold there. They (Koji and
Debbie) are great people that ran a beautiful business for a good
long time and then R.V'd off into the sunset for the golden years.
We give them our best wishes for a long, happy and wonderful fishing
trip.

What the sun does to the glass reflections on the Gravitystage is
incredible, almost every day!

The piece in the foreground with sun coming through it is an exquisite
piece made from the color "Roma Red". It stands 59cm high
and is 21cm at the base. I think this piece is as perfect as any
hand blown vase I've ever seen. the price is $560.00(USD) plus shipping.

I call this piece "Flower Bowls" because the bowls were
made at the same time out of the same "Oyster Red" glass
stock.

The desk-ornaments that Steve makes are these "fascinating
little universes!"
Or at least that's what one of our customers (Ellen) told me.

We built the Gravity Feed out of as much recycled materials (from
Kasuri Dyeworks) as we possibly could and we tried to keep the feel
of the space as comfortable and inviting as the the previous owners
did.

I know, I know X-mas is over but we still have a Buttload of these
balls and they are just so cool that I had to leave at least one
cool shot up.

Cobalt and white. by James
Lane

This beautiful geen bowl stands 22cm tall and is 23cm at its widest
point.

Our Friend Jill (the owner of Blow
Salon) has this thing for all of Steve's pink pieces. I love
to watch her freak out every time Steve brings in some new pink
stuff!

Steve never makes a matching set on purpose but this pair make a
perfect set! The vase (sn138 $180.00 USD) stands 45cm tall and is
13cm at its base and the bowl (sn112 $220 USD) is 33cm wide.

The red reflections are almost
always just as dramatic as the glass itself.

BluFeed1: 2/27/2004

All the above Vases are sold, sorry, we just
thought they looked so good together in this (our very first) exhibit
in the North Window that I couldn't just toss this
photo in the sold stack! It's good to note that all the above glass
went to good homes.

This bowl is one of my favorate bowls that
we have. The reason I like it so much is that it's just so simple.
Steve seems to think this is a second that's why he's only asking
$80.00 USD.
