...On
Gravity's Walls 2004 .
I'd like to personally thank
all the artist that showed they're work in 2004 at the Gravity
Feed! The four shows we did this year turned out to be
my favorite shows to date. Although public interaction
with the artists themselves was minimal the overall public response
to the the shows as a whole were favorable. The beautiful aesthetic
of each show won the hearts of our neighbors and the contrast of
new, unfamiliar mediums even scored us some outside (funky-like
Berkeley) media attention. I'm going to leave this gallery page
up for a year or so - check it out now and then for an update or
two, or three...J.Lane
Thank you one and all!!!

As
the seasons change, so do the walls of the Gravity Feed! For the
spring of the year 2004 we celebrated the
"Color Red and the promises of spring".
This show was allot of fun and ran from 2/13/2004 through 5/23/2004.

Steve
Denault is a local Berkeley artist of impeccable talent. He
has lived in the city of Berkeley, Calif. for nearly all of his
life and has seen his home go through many changes through-out the
years. I believe his works in electrified Titanium are beautiful
expressions of his above concerns.

RedLamps: 4/1/2004

Gravityfeed was also proud to present the
Acrylic works of painter Susan Jenkins.
Susan's work is pristine in it's design elements and truly representative
of itself thus defining it's own expression and it's own beauty.
Unfortunately, her work had a limited showing at the Gravity feed
from 4/17/2004 until 5/17/2004 but we sure are glad we had the opportunity
to show her beautiful works of art.

Patrick came bounding into the Gravity feed
on a beautiful spring day with my favorite word
on his lips... "Wow!" He said and thus began what I know
will be a lifetime friendship. Since photography is my artistic
medium of choice I have a different kind of respect for photographers,
as artists, then I do for people specializing in mediums I can only
appreciate such as paint. I tend to say to myself upon meeting a
self-proclaimed "Photographer",
"oh yeah, show me something great!" I then look at their
work and, more often then not, shrug, smile politely and dive in
with my credentials and my critique. It usually only takes a few
minuets. Patrick Cheatham, on the other hand, indeed showed me something
great! His work in 360 degree (what I call) human-scapes is beautiful
in it's rye but intelligent humor and oh so subtle in his message!
... Once again, words fail the image! Please come see this mans
work at the Gravity feed for the months of April and May 2004 and
again from September till December 15th 2004! Also, check out the
link below for a sample of Patrick's on line work... J. Lane

Featured Photographers
along with Patrick Cheatham on the North Wall of the Gravityfeed
for the Fall 2004 show are, Steve Kessler(B/W) and Erica Schuckman
(Digital).

Erica Schuckman's website is at

Bryan Reuter is
our final two dimensional artist of the spring of 2004. His work
is beautifully futuristic on so many levels ranging from photographic
medium (mutated digital images) to paper (large scale, color photo-copy).
His work is not only exciting to look at but the images themselves
run deep with the contrasting textures of perfect geographical forms
and those of the imperfect mediums that Bryan employs; his mind
and his hands. Be sure to check out the band that Bryan is in.

Team Cavalier consists
of Bryan Reuter and Mary Anne Kluth. I believe they're work to be
truly visionary.

One of the best things about
Steve De Nault's Titanium works is the fact that they look completely
different every day, as the sun tracts across them the reflections
off the titanium are reminiscent of a hologram. It's beautiful,
completely divergent art!

The North wall and the gravity stage get the sun
from about 2:00pm until sunset.

When I first started building
the Gravity Feed in the spring of 2003 I realized early on that
one of the most dramatic features of this space was going to be
the reflections of the glass on the walls. I try to leave enough
space between the 2-D hanging works of art to feature some of the
reflected shadows of our glass artists work.( J. Lane)
