As far as sailing goes I can tell you that I think this sailboat (S.V. Sovereign Nation) is by-far the sturdiest sailboat I've ever had the pleasure to sail in blue water and I've sailed in and out of blue water on both sides of the North American continent nearly all of my life.
When we brought SVSN down to S.F. from Eureka in 2002 Dena and I saw 40 foot seas as we rounded Cape Mendocino about 20 miles off shore from the deck of this sturdy ol'man! The Sailing Vessel Sovereign Nation never once let us down and held together in true Wm. Garden fashion. After 55 hours of hellish weather we made it into our slip at Emery Cove safe and and sound with surprisingly few repairs to make!
We are now continuing our adventure aboard our new ship the S.V.Sapien
