Davits While the boat was in Eureka, it was swiped by an angry Maxim 45, sweeping the davits and mizzen boom cradle right off the boat. Since we had perfect access to the aft caprail, we sanded and painted it.
My Uncle Alan is a great man and a great welder. He has tons of experience with food grade welding and with drafting. He figured us up some davits and built them! He brought the main pieces to the dock and welded them together on the boat. Uncle Alan was not amused by the novel attempt to weld in the wind!
