you will find a list that roughly details our inspirations
and motives or maybe just an old fashioned story about
someone or some event that drove us to live this life.
Oh yeah, photos and links, you'll always find photos

Books:
A People's History of the United States, 1492 to
present. By Howard Zinn
(JL*) I think I can honestly say this is the first book that
literally "changed my life". It is also almost impossible
to put down from start to finish and in places so hard to read
that the tendancy to throw the book across the room and scream
the words "Stupid Monkey" at the top of your
lungs is damn near impossible to resist.
Cosmos. By Carl Sagan
(JL*) Dena just recently read this brilliant book by the single
most listened to Cosmologist/Astronomer/Idealist in the history
of mankind. I read it back in 1985 and what really blew me away
about Dena's reading and recounting to me was how definitive
Dr. Sagan's science is even today, how it will always be. Because
it's science, not faith.
The Last Voyage of Somebody the Sailor.
By John Barth
(JL*) When Dena and I first began our Journey around the Earth
we started reading books by then Johns Hopkins Post Modern
English Professor John Barth and have since read his entire
body of work, with very few exceptions (published essays, et-cet).
This writer has set so many standards of influence in both of
our lives that it's kind of hard to put a finger on which book
of his (many) to recommend. I recommend Somebody the Sailor
simply because it was my re-discovery point and Dena's discovery
of this incredible story teller.
Life of Pi.
By Yann Martel
(JL*)This book is what fiction is all about. It tells a story
that is so true that the images are simply branded to the inside
of your mind. I will always see Richard Parker in my dreams.
The boat who wouldn't float.
By Farly Mowatt
If you ever needed a reason to not buy the boat of your dreams
then I'd say you needed to memorise this book
Two Years Before the Mast.
By R.H. Dana Jr.
Burr. By Gore Vidal
